Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. About us

The Quran Group CIC (Company Number 17039732) is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales. We provide free online Islamic education at thequrangroup.com. By using our website, creating an account, or attending our classes, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Our services

We provide free live online Islamic education, including Hifz (Quran memorisation), Tajweed (recitation), Seerah, Tafseer, Fiqh, Aqaaid, Hadith, and Arabic. Classes are led by qualified volunteer scholars and teachers. We reserve the right to amend class schedules, change teachers, add or remove offerings, or update our platform at any time.

3. Eligibility and accounts

Our services are intended for users aged 13 and over. By creating an account, you confirm you are at least 13 years old and that the information you provide is accurate and current. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and you may not share your account with others. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that we reasonably believe have been created with inaccurate information.

We do not currently offer dedicated classes for children under 13. When we do introduce children's programmes in the future, separate terms, parental consent procedures, and safeguarding policies will apply, and parents or guardians will be required to consent to those terms on behalf of their child before participation.

4. User responsibilities

When using our platform and attending our classes, you agree to:

  • Treat teachers and fellow students with respect at all times
  • Not record, screenshot, or distribute class content, teacher information, or other students' information without explicit permission
  • Not use our services for any unlawful, harmful, or disruptive purpose
  • Not attempt to access, interfere with, or compromise our systems
  • Provide accurate information when registering and applying to classes
  • Inform your teacher in advance if you cannot attend a class

Users aged 18 and over are responsible for their own conduct on our platform and in our classes. Where teachers have concerns about an adult student's wellbeing or conduct, they will raise these with the organisation, who will respond appropriately. This does not transfer the organisation's general duty of care, but reflects that adult students are responsible for their own decisions and behaviour.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove any user who breaches these terms or whose conduct we reasonably consider inappropriate.

5. Free services and future paid offerings

Our core classes are and will remain free of charge. We may in future offer optional paid programmes (such as our Alim scholarship class). Any paid offerings will be clearly indicated as such, and our free classes will always remain available without payment.

6. Class recordings

Some classes may be recorded by teachers for educational or operational purposes, or shared with students who have missed a class on request. By attending a class, you consent to such recording where it occurs. Recordings are stored securely, are not made publicly available without further consent, and access is limited to authorised teachers, administrators, and students enrolled in the relevant class. You may request information about recordings of classes you attended by contacting us.

7. Intellectual property and sharing of content

We believe Islamic knowledge should be widely shared. Most content produced by The Quran Group CIC is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial licence (CC BY-NC 4.0). You are welcome to copy, share, translate, and build on our content for free, personal, or educational use, provided you credit The Quran Group CIC as the source and do not present our content in a misleading way.

We welcome others โ€” including educators, researchers, journalists, and other organisations, whether non-commercial or commercial โ€” to cite, quote, and reference our work in their own materials, with appropriate attribution. Building a wider chain of credible Islamic education benefits everyone.

What we ask: please do not take our content and resell or repackage it as a paid product, as this works against the free-access principle our work is built on. If you would like to use our content commercially in a way not covered by the above, please contact us โ€” we are open to conversations.

Recordings of classes may only be shared with the consent of the relevant teacher, and remain subject to the privacy rights of the students who appear in them. Trademarks, logos, and the name "The Quran Group" remain the property of The Quran Group CIC and may not be used without permission.

8. Donations

Donations made to The Quran Group CIC are used to support our charitable purpose of providing free Islamic education. We publish periodic financial summaries showing how donor funds are used. Donations are non-refundable except in cases of clear error.

9. Privacy and data

Our handling of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at thequrangroup.com/privacy. By using our services you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available". While we work to maintain a reliable platform, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the platform will be free from errors or delays.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, The Quran Group CIC's liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of our services is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice where possible.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Contact
